Exquisite Geckos is committed to ethical breeding, proper husbandry, and transparency. This Health Guarantee outlines what is and is not covered, and the responsibilities of both the seller and buyer.

Health Status & Veterinary Disclosure
All animals sold by Exquisite Geckos are visually assessed, monitored, and cared for using established husbandry practices. However, no animal is sold as “vet-cleared.”
As with any living animal—including reptiles, mammals, and humans—there is always the possibility of unforeseen illness, congenital conditions, or natural health events that may arise due to factors beyond anyone’s control.
By purchasing an animal, the buyer acknowledges that:
reptiles can carry latent or undetectable conditions
not all illnesses or internal issues are externally visible
natural health outcomes may occur despite appropriate care

Health Guarantee During Holds (Prior to Shipping or Pickup)
Animals placed on hold with Exquisite Geckos are guaranteed to be:
alive
in stable health
while remaining in the seller’s care prior to shipment or local pickup.
Appropriate husbandry is maintained throughout the hold period. Minor stress-related or cosmetic changes that may occur during holding are not considered health defects.

No Post-Delivery Health Guarantee Window
Exquisite Geckos does not offer a health guarantee window once an animal has left the seller’s care, including after delivery or local pickup.
This policy reflects:
over a decade of established experience breeding and shipping crested geckos
a proven history of healthy animals and responsible care
confidence in the condition of animals at the time they leave the seller’s possession
Once an animal has been transferred to the shipping carrier or picked up by the buyer, all responsibility for care, environment, and outcomes transfers fully to the buyer. Shipping-related outcomes are governed by the Shipping & Pickup policy.

Cosmetic Conditions (Including Tail Drop)
Certain outcomes are considered cosmetic and unavoidable, including but not limited to tail drop.
Tail drop is a natural defensive response in crested geckos and does not impact overall health or quality of life. Cosmetic conditions are not covered under this Health Guarantee.
No refunds, exchanges, credits, or replacements will be issued for cosmetic conditions, including tail drop, regardless of when they occur.

Limited Exception – Veterinary Confirmation (Store Credit Only)
The only exception to this policy is as follows:
If a buyer has the animal thoroughly examined by a licensed veterinarian within fourteen (14) days of receiving the animal, and written veterinary documentation confirms:
a genetic defect, or
a pre-existing internal condition not detectable without veterinary examination
Exquisite Geckos will offer full store credit only, minus shipping costs.

Conditions of This Exception
No refunds will be issued
No cash replacements will be issued
Veterinary documentation must be clear, written, and verifiable
Shipping costs are non-refundable under all circumstances
This exception exists to ensure fairness while acknowledging that some internal or genetic conditions cannot be identified through visual assessment alone.

Buyer Acknowledgment
Purchase of an animal from Exquisite Geckos constitutes full acknowledgment and acceptance of:
this Health Guarantee
the absence of a post-delivery health window
the inherent unpredictability of living animals
