Reselling & Flipping Policy
Animals purchased from Exquisite Geckos are sold with the expectation of responsible, ethical ownership and care.
The following practices are not permitted:
Immediate or short-term resale (“flipping”) of an animal shortly after purchase
A consistent pattern of reselling animals purchased from Exquisite Geckos
Reselling an animal for more than the original purchase price when the animal has not been:
properly cared for over time
grown out
evaluated, proven, or ethically established under the buyer’s care

Acceptable & Exempt Circumstances
The following situations are explicitly permitted and exempt from this policy:
Exiting the hobby or downsizing unexpectedly, including but not limited to:
personal, financial, health, or housing changes.
Occasional reselling of an animal, provided it does not form a consistent resale pattern.
Purchasing an animal for a limited breeding project, followed by:
placement with another breeder for bloodline rotation
placement into a permanent or retired pet home
Exquisite Geckos recognizes that ethical rotation of bloodlines and responsible rehoming are
necessary and normal practices within the hobby.

Determination & Enforcement
Exquisite Geckos reserves the right to determine whether resale activity constitutes:
acceptable occasional rehoming
ethical breeder-to-breeder placement
or a pattern of improper flipping or misrepresentation

Consequences
If prohibited practices are identified:
The buyer may be permanently banned from future purchases from Exquisite Geckos
Exquisite Geckos reserves the right to inform the new owner if an animal was resold under
deceptive or misleading circumstances, including misrepresentation of care, value, or provenance
Purchase of an animal constitutes full acknowledgment and acceptance of this policy.
Right of First Refusal

If a buyer is unable or unwilling to continue keeping an animal purchased from Exquisite Geckos,
Exquisite Geckos must be given the first opportunity to reclaim or assist in rehoming the animal, under the following conditions:
The buyer must notify Exquisite Geckos before offering the animal for sale, trade, or rehoming
Exquisite Geckos may, at its discretion:
reclaim the animal
assist in placement with an approved breeder or pet home
decline the right, allowing the buyer to proceed with rehoming

Conditions
Any return, buyback, or assistance is not guaranteed and is determined on a case-by-case basis
Purchase price refunds are not guaranteed and may be:
partial
credit-based

or declined entirely, depending on circumstances, time held, and condition of the animal.
The buyer remains fully responsible for the animal’s care and wellbeing until proper transfer is completed.

Failure to honor this Right of First Refusal may result in:
permanent restriction or banning from future purchases
disclosure to the new owner regarding the animal’s provenance and prior ownership history.

This clause exists to protect:
the welfare of the animal
ethical placement practices
transparency within the reptile community
Purchase of an animal constitutes full acknowledgment and acceptance of this Right of First Refusal.
Giveaway Animals & Resale Restrictions
Animals obtained through giveaways, raffles, or promotional events from Exquisite Geckos
are provided without purchase price and may not be resold for profit under any circumstances.
If a recipient is unable or unwilling to properly care for a giveaway animal:
The animal must be returned to Exquisite Geckos, or
Exquisite Geckos must be contacted to approve an appropriate rehoming arrangement
Selling, trading, or otherwise transferring a giveaway animal for profit,
or failing to return or disclose rehoming of a giveaway animal, constitutes a violation of this policy.

Consequences
Failure to comply with this policy will result in:
Permanent banning from future purchases
Permanent removal from participation in giveaways, raffles, promotions, or community activities associated with Exquisite Geckos
This policy exists to ensure giveaway animals are placed responsibly and not used for financial gain.
